Eight (8) takeaways from the August Retreat with my coach James Wedmore
This week, this went out to my newsletter list and I just HAD to share here! Stay connected and Join My Newsletter!
If you are a a fellow female entrepreneur friend! Whether it's your side hustle, passion gig, or full time business - HELLO! We're in this crazy boat ⛵ called entrepreneurship together! And I don't know about you but sometimes entrepreneurship can feel..
And I just want you to know you're not alone. As a confidence coach for female entrepreneurs specializing in somatics and subconscious mind coaching, it’s important for me to also stay connected & find community. Because sometimes we need a magical community to pull us forward. I just got back from a 2 day retreat with my mentor, James Wedmore, at our Next Level business coaching mastermind & I'm here to share my 8 takeaways so you can be on the ride with me and learn & grow too! 🌿🌿
**1. Mudita is a dharmic concept of joy, particularly an especially sympathetic or vicarious joy—the pleasure that comes from delighting in other people's well-being.
Many of us just got done watching the 2024 summer olympics. A phenomena where we can witness other humans cheering for other humans and finding joy in their joy. From competitors cheering each other on at the finish line, to Olympic champions’ spouses cheering on their partner and experiencing their loved ones joy as their own. This concept of genuinely being happy for someone else’s joy, delighting in their delight. We practiced this throughout the August retreat and it was beautiful to witness and be a part of.
**2. The wolf is the pack, the pack is the wolf.
We are all interconnected. No matter your belief system, spirituality practices, or religious faith beliefs, at the end of the day we are all on Earth together at this time and loosely connected by but a thread between us all. Just like how 1 car slowing down in the fast lane, will impact how all the other cars move at 9am during high traffic season - similarly all our every day interactions, in some way or another, impact another human. For small groups even more so - if I’m having a bad irritable day, this can quickly seep into my small family home unit and will impact my son and spouse. Or when one of us “wins” and is having a really good day - it positively impacts us all. We are all connected.
**3. Healing happens in circles…
Healing is SO powerful when done in a group. Prior to entering James Wedmore world - I had never been really part of a “tight knit” group outside of some small circles I’d began to create in my own business. Prior to this, I mainly did my healing - therapy, subconscious coaching sessions in a 1 on 1 container. I didn’t realize how POWERFUL it can be to heal within a group - from 5 people to 10 people to 180+ people. We did some profound healing exercises with a group of 180+ people and also in small breakout groups and the healing was powerful. Something magical happens when a group of people join together (live or virtually) and intend to heal together.
**4. Healing is circular.
We have been conditioned to believe that with everything there is a start and an end. And while yes - you can start a project and complete it. The process of HEALING as a multidimensional human being is just that. A process, a journey, and it is circular. And a circle never ends. It just keeps going around, and around, and around. Some people take that to mean well then I’ll need to wait to chase my dreams until I’m “fully healed” and that’s a fools way of thinking. Knowing that healing is a process, it is best to heal, be inspired, take action. And as you live your life and new things pop up as invitations to heal them, you can go in with a smile, to heal, again and again. Healing doesn’t precede living life. The two happen together!
**5. Rinse, repeat.
Business doesn’t need to be complicated. You really can get crystal clear on an offer or two, get specific about who you serve and how you help them, and hit rinse, repeat on your launch and sales system. It can be easy. You get to continue to automate, delegate, and delete tasks/projects accordingly. Yes your business is part of your mission and why you’re here - but it gets to be easy, fun, light and you can still find joy in other things! Spend time in other hobbies, traveling, volunteer work, maybe you still enjoy another paid job - it’s all good - only YOU can define what freedom and success looks like for you. But it can really be rinse, repeat simple.
**6. The mind/ego works from protection and survival. It is a necessary part of us, but we can work with it.
The mind is interesting, but the most primitive parts of our brain are wired in protection and survival. And this makes sense as a species for survival. But the more we realize and embrace this wiring, the more we can work with it. The more we can begin to get curious about how its operating and begin to challenge and UPDATE our beliefs to work FOR US (not against us).
**7. We each have our own talents, gifts, skillsets. Embrace it!
Being in a room full of 180+ people for this August retreat made me really get quiet and realize how uniquely different we all are. People from all over the country came together to work, learn, and grow together. Each of us brought our own talents, gifts, skillsets but more than that - we just brought our energy. And that was enough. Just being in the room, I knew we were each having an impact on each other.
**8. Forgiveness is freeing.
Early on in the retreat - we began a simple practice together that my biz mentor James shared. It was as much a prayer of foregiveness, as well as a clearing or cleansing practice that we were encouraged to do when another group member was sharing, or when we were sitting and holding space with another. We were practicing this prayer - the ho'oponopono prayer, and it goes like this: “I'm sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you, I love you.” It was simple. and so beautiful. Forgiveness is freeing. A gift you give yourself as much as another person.

#9: This retreat really shook something in me. I didn’t realize I had a deep hidden belief ( and let me tell you I’ve been in a 1 year deep dive healing journey in my own subconscious mind and past life journey - AND there is’ STILL MORE, because healing is circular ) - that I was deeply afraid of REALLY BEING SEEN in large groups of people. There was significant fear and that large groups were UNSAFE. Even in this large room of heart led beautiful entrepreneurs. I was afraid. By the end, I broke that down, and went inward to find the answers and healing I needed. And to walk away, realizing how much I enjoy healing in community and want to do more of this!! - was a profound shift for me. I still will say - as an empath and intuitive - I need to be very mindful of how much time I spend in large groups - that I am clearing/cleansing my energetic auric field and taking breaks - I found I still really enjoy this!
Reflection: what are your takeaways after reading this? What is maybe a practice or something you will try? What landed? What did not?
Words to reflect on…
The journey of entrepreneurship is really a journey INWARD, especially if you have a personal brand business where YOU are embedded in the business as the coach, healer, therapist, etc.
